Welcome to Myrtle Beach the Golf Coast Capitol of the World and one of America’s top golf destinations. Myrtle Beach is a community of about 35,000 permanent residents and along with the neighboring cities of North Myrtle Beach, Conway, Garden City, and Murrells Inlet it makes up what many refer to as, the “Grand Strand”.
The Grand Strand refers to a large stretch of beaches on South Carolina's northern coast extending from Little River to Georgetown. It consists of 60+ miles along an essentially uninterrupted arc of beach land, beginning around Little River and terminating at Winyah Bay just south of Georgetown
The Grand Strand offers travelers more than forty miles of sandy beachfront, a half dozen fishing piers where you can fish for everything from King Mackerel to Flounder, on and off shore dolphin watching, and even a stroll along one of the country's top boardwalks.
In 2010 Myrtle Beach completed the first two mile stretch of its boardwalk, since then it has extended it another mile and more extensions are planned. It has already been recognized as the nation's #3 boardwalk by National Geographic and one of the best US boardwalks by Travel + Leisure magazine.
