The oldest and most iconic golf course in the world. The Swilcan Bridge and Hell Bunker are recognized across the globe, yet the greatest feature of the Old Course is that despite its grand status it remains a public golf course, open to all.
For more than 600 years St Andrews Links, much like the game of golf itself, has evolved. Today more than 230,000 rounds are played over the seven public courses. St Andrews Links Trust also manages a number of additional facilities including a golf academy, three clubhouses and five shops including the Tom Morris Shop, the oldest golf shop in the world. Throughout its unique history, the focus of the Links has remained on nurturing the game here in St Andrews, ensuring our golf courses are open to all, managing the courses in a sustainable way and providing free golf to the children of the town, through our Junior Golf programme, SALJGA.
