Long Bay

Considered one of the most difficult golf courses on the Grand Strand, this Jack Nicklaus-designed masterpiece was built to challenge even the most adroit golfer. Formidable in every feature, Long Bay displays countless large man-made mounds, a demanding 137 slope from the championship tees (127 from the ladies), handsome but deceiving par-3 holes and bottomless bunkers. Hailed as “one of the Strand’s most difficult,” only truly valiant and patient golfers need apply.

The Long Bay Club is a magnificent Jack Nicklaus “signature course” that is continually ranked among the top courses in the country. This is a typical Nicklaus design, but with deep pot bunkers and vast waste areas adding a unique identity and challenge. A great course is often described as one where the holes become etched in your memory. Long Bay is such a course. The 10th hole (pictured here) has become one of the most recognized in golf.
